When I was listening to music I found my copy of Vanessa Williams's 1994 album The Sweetest Days and I would like to know how this album came about? I find it surprising that there aren't no dance tracks on it and she focuses on ballads and easy listening music for this album. I do know that the title song was a smash hit in 1994/1995 and she does a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald on the song Ellamental. Was Vanessa Williams trying to become a jazz singer and try to score on the easy listening market?
