Question Movie Review....

I just posted this but I got disconnected so I don't think it went through...

Has anyone seen the Powerpuff girls movie? Was it any good? I'm gonna see a movie next week with my sisters and it's either that or Like Mike. I dunno which one though.

Thumbs down Looks Dumb

I haven't seen the movie nor am I a kid but from the previews I've seen the movie looks plain dumb. Cartoons these days are getting worse and worse in my opinion.

I agree. Ever since the mid-1990s cartoons just plain sucked and they are only getting worse each year.

Before the commercials came out i had read about the plot synopsis for Like Mike.I had to read it TWICE because I thought I had read it wrong!!!!It is the stupidest concept I have ever heard of.And the kid who stars in it will be a "Whatever happened to..?"in about 5 years.
Go see Powerpuff Girls. At least you stand a chance.

I saw Like Mike the other day. Ehhhh..I thought it was alright. It was kinda cute. But mamamiasweetpeaches is right, the plot is really unbelievable. Anyway, it was fine overall, but not one of my favorites.

On the whole I would agree with your assessment, however, there are a handful of quality cartoons out these days, and Powerpuff Girls is one of them. The animation style is striking and unique, the humor is good for kids but also is witty with a level of subtext that makes it enjoyable for adults, there's action, it's colorful, and it's well-written. Definitely one of the best cartoons to hit the airwaves in years.

Dexter's Laboratory is also sometimes amusing, and Samuri Jack is good at times. The animation on Samuri Jack is of a higher quality than most kids' cartoons. Craig McCracken (the man behind all three of these cartoons) has definitely earned my respect and I'll be watching for more from him in the future.

That said, I haven't seen the movie yet. No one will go with me, so I'm gonna wait til it goes to the cheap theatre or comes to video.

Maybe, but that kid also has a successful singing career, in case you didn't know. Bow Wow had at least 2 hits as Li'l Bow Wow (he's since dropped "Li'l" from his moniker) and has very powerful and talented personalities in the rap music world backing him up. I doubt he'll have a successful acting career, but I would guess he'll still be on the music scene. But maybe we'll have to wait and see after his voice changes,
