My daughter is taking care of their 15 yr old Sheba Inyau who is in advancing doggie dementia...They got her as a pup and now going thru this last stage, heart breaking. She's in no pain, but needs a lot of care.

I'm sorry that your daughter is going through this with her Shiba Inu, Caroline. It's devastating to watch your beloved pet decline while knowing what the ending will be. We are currently watching our 15 year old Australian Shepherd struggle with lymphoma and advanced arthritis.

I've worked with dogs experiencing Sundowner's Syndrome and trazadone has helped alleviate the symptoms in some cases.

She has used primarily all alternatives with her dog, and in alternative links mention is made of Vit C, and many others and even low dose Melatonin for better sleep for the dog.

Many use glucosamine for dog joint OA. And believe it or not, many vets do suggest Grape Seed Extract for animals. You can find that info online too with Grape Seed Extract for Animals.
