Alan Smithee (also Allen Smithee) is an official pseudonym used by film directors who wish to disown a project.

I'm sure I've seen some Alan Smithee films, but looking at that list, the ones that stick out to me are the Tiny Toon Adventures segments, the Cosby Show episode, and MacGyver episodes.

I have seen:
Student Bodies (1981) Michael Ritchie used the pseudonym, best known for directing The Bad News Bears and the Fletch movies. Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) It was the second assistant director of the John Landis segment, most likely to distance himself. Stitches (1985) Let's Get Harry (1986) Morgan Stewart's Coming Home (1987) Underrated teen comedy starring Jon Cryer as a horror fan Ghost Fever (1987) The Shrimp on the Barbie (1990) Solar Crisis (1990) Bloodsucking Pharaohs in Pittsburgh (1991) The Birds II: Land's End (1994) Unfortunately An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn (1997) Old 37 (2015) |
