Following the success of Survivor Mark Burnett decided to press his luck and created Pirate Master which also aired on CBS. Pirate Master was hosted by a guy named Cameron Daddo who might be the Australian version of Jeff Probst of this reality show. In Pirate Master contestants of strangers had to solve challenges in order to find and win a pirate's treasure chest filled with money and much like Survivor a contestant was voted off each episode. Though many people called Pirate Master a Survivor ripoff Pirate Master was cancelled by CBS for reasons unknown. Do you think Pirate Master would've been a better hit had CBS promoted it right? I think so

I remember Pirate Master but it performed poorly in the ratings and CBS didn't even air all 14 episodes. The show was cancelled after the 8th episode and episodes 9-14 were made available for online viewing only. I wanted Louie to win but he was "cut adrift" in the 13th episode and Ben ended up as the winner in the 14th and final episode.

There was also a post production tragedy with regards to Pirate Master as one of the contestants, Cheryl Kosewicz, passed away by suicide. Very sad.

The two main problems with Pirate Master were that the rules of the game were confusing and difficult to follow and the game also lacked a social aspect which resulted in dull and uninteresting episodes.

That's a shame that Pirate Master got cancelled because CBS would've had another hit on their hands. What happened to Cameron Daddo since Pirate Master was cancelled because I hadn't heard much about him?

After Pirate Master ended, Cameron Daddo has remained busy and has a long list of credits on the Internet Movie Database.
