First, I didn't really liked the first few seasons through early 1974. I really enjoyed the later years of All In The Family from late 1974-1979, and I sure would love to see Archie Bunker's Place. It has been 11 years since I have seen the spinoff. My all-time favorite season is season 8. 1977-1978 season featured many 2 part episodes covering topics like Edith's near rape, Archie Buying the Bar forging Edith's name on a document, Archie going through depression during very slow times at the bar, Archie and the Klu Klux Klan, Edith's losing a friend on Christmas (Beverly LaSalle) and Mike and Gloria's goodbye to California 3 part episode. In my opinion, that was the best season. I also enjoyed the last season of All In The Family as we are introduced to Stephanie. Archie really gets soft as we slowly begin to switch more to the bar and closing the 70's era. I would like to know when we can expect Nick -At-Nite to purchase Archie Bunker's Place so we can see the post All In The Family shows.

I don't think I could choose any one season over another. They were all good in their own special way. I enjoyed watching Archie grow as a person over the years, and also the way Archie and Edith developed a closer relationship through each season.

The show got a little more boring after Joey was born, because, there was constantly somebody from the cast missing episodes, especially, ones with just Mike and Gloria, and it had more seriousness, and Archie was acting softer and compassionate. I guess that's when Carroll O'Connor grew more tired of being the totally grouchy bigot

I liked the first season the best because Lionel was in it more often. It was hilarious watching him B.S.ing Archie all the time.

Season 3-8 were fantastic!!
Seasons 1 and 2 were good.
Season 9(no Mike and Gloria) really wasn't that good.

I really like all the seasons up til Stephanie showed up. I'm glad Archie and Edith were still on the show, but with Mike and Gloria gone it lost the spunk. It was so much better with Gloria and the Meathead.

The early seasons (1971 thru 1975) were absolutely the best. The writing, acting, directing, and fast pace was unsurpassed. They dealt with all the hot '70s topics. Those were the seasons that had all the classic episodes like "Sammy Davis Jr's Visit".

Once Mike & Gloria moved next door in the Jefferson's house, it was all down hill after that. The show was still "okay" in next couple of years because Mike & Gloria still had active roles even though they weren't living in the Bunker house. The quality and entertainment level of those episodes were on a "hit or miss" basis. One major hit was the "Draft Dodger" episode (1977). That one, I must say, was killer!

The later episodes (1978 & 1979) after Mike & Gloria left completely were absolutley painful to watch. Without the Archie/Meathead battles or those vibrant early '70s social/political issues, the show became a ghost of what it once was. Archie & Edith just kinda aimlessly drifted around the set and moaned alot. "Blah, blah, blah,...the Sunshine Home, Archie...whine, whine, whine...don't tell Stephy...blah, blah, blah."

Don't even get me going on "Archie Bunker's Place" (1979 to ?)!!!

My favorite season of the show is season 9 with Archie, Edith, and Stephanie. Stephanie was a great addition to the show because she added flavor to it. And it was a good thing that Mike and Glorie left because the arguments and the feuds between Archie and the Meathead were already getting old and tired out. Adding Stephanie was a clean fresh breath of air for the show.
