Had a sudden onset of A LOT of small black floaters. Often floaters are harmless, but sometimes can indicate a retinal hole or tear, which can be serious. My opthamologist, after examining me, suspected a retinal hole and referred me to a retina specialist. The specialist THOROUGHLY examined my eye and said I needed the hole lasered as he was concerned fluid might leak behind the hole. So he lasered it and told me to stay away from reading/internet until late this afternoon.
