Kate Smith was an important part of American history because she was best known for her patriotic songs but what people didn't know about Kate Smith was that she was a spokeswoman for Saran Wrap and appeared in a commercial for Saran Wrap in the 1950's because Saran Wrap was a sponsor of her show The Kate Smith Hour. Kate Smith was a remarkable singer and this commercial is one of the Kate Smith rarities you'll come across. Although died in 1986 Kate Smith will always be remembered as a legend

As I was pulling out a piece of Stretch Tite Saran Wrap I was wondering how long has the wrap been around. What did people use say 1921 for wrapping food. I guessing it was a whitish wax paper similar to what fish is wrapped in. So much has changed since 1921.

Hi, Bestie! What a nice piece of trivia! Kate Smith is an icon of patriotic music. It reminds me that on the old tv shows, they would perform commercials themselves on the live tv. Yes things have changed. For the better? I don't know.
