These are stated IQs for some sitcom characters:
Wile E. Coyote 207 Sheldon Cooper 187 Felix Unger 186 Bull Shannon 181 Leonard Hofstadter 173 Lisa Simpson 159 Niles Crane 156 Emily Hartley 151 Elaine Benes 145 Jerry Robinson 136 Bob Hartley 129 Frasier Crane 129 Arthur Dietrich: "An IQ that'd knock your socks off." Do we know any others? Any sitcoms characters with IQs lower than "almost gifted"? There are two above that stand out for me. I think that Felix at 186 is absurdly high number. I think they probably used it because IQ wasn't a standard sitcom device then and they just pulled out 186 because they figured pretty much everyone would know it was a high number. The other is Elaine Benes, who projects as something of a dumb bunny: "War - what is it good for?" |

The Facts of Life - specific numbers aren't given, but Nancy's score is the highest and Sue Ann's is the lowest. Blair's is higher than her weight; Natalie and Tootie have identical scores.

There are the plot-staple episodes where character's average (or low) IQ is mistaken to be high: Beaver Cleaver, Jeff Stone, Patty Lane, Bart Simpson... there must be more.

I believe Mike Seaver took an IQ test and scored incredibly poorly. Didn't he score at "moron" level?

Beaver Cleaver: Charles Fredericks switched test papers with him. He did very well on a later test which I think "stuck." Maybe they didn't test common sense. Patty? - I don't remember the episode but nobody should have believed it. Maybe her and Cathy's papers got switched. Nobody should have believed Jeff, either. Also it strikes me they did something with this on the Partridge Family, with Danny of course. |
