It took me to get the DVD to realize how talented she really was which is another reason why I enjoyed this show a little more than All in the family.

This is one of the best blind buy DVD I ever made

Bea Arthur appeared on Broadway in the original cast of Fiddler on The Roof. She also won a Tony Award for Mame.

Have you ever watched The Golden Girls? There was an episode where Blanche, who is Vivian from Maude, brought Dorothy, who is played by Bea Arthur from Maude, to a local hangout called The Rusty Anchor and she sung on there, catching the mens attentions and making Blanche jealous. She sung nice on there.

Yes, the fact that Miss Arthur could not only dance well but sing well and could project VERY well gave her the means to rise through the stage world until she got the notice of Mr. Lear despite the fact that she never was a conventional beauty.

One time Tallullah Bankhead told Miss Arthur that she was too unattractive for her talents to be noticed- and Miss Arthur recalled this and it spurred her to prove Miss Bankhead wrong (and, it seems, she never forgave Miss Bankhead for her mean statement).
