OK Beaver fans, it's trivia time. Yesterday, I was heading into the homestretch of my afternoon Leave it to Beaver binge and I saw the episode where Beaver was about to embark on a six week cross country trip but he was so infatuated with Mary Margaret Matthews. She was one of only two characters in the show's six year run to call Beaver "Teddy." Who was the other?

In this episode, where Beaver is despondent over Miss Landers' engagement, we learn something else, which isn't mentioned in any other episode. What?

I’ll take a guess: The first names of Miss Lander’s parents? I think there was a brief clipping of the upcoming marriage in the ep.

The first response is right. It was Tom Brittingham. Miss Landers first name was Alice as mentioned in Tom's line "Well Alice knows what you little fellows like, huh Teddy."

You're right. Only time Miss Landers' first name was mentioned. Jerry in his bio didn't know this little piece of trivia, and said we didn't know her first name.

Unfortunately Jerry didn’t know a lot about his own show. What really irked me was when he would be on some local, national talk show with Tony or cast members, before they started dropping like flies, and talk about how the show was the first time they were allowed to show a toilet.

Oh yeah, that toilet was one of his big talking points.
The person who really knows the show is Bob "Rusty" Stevens. He communicates thru a moderator on Facebook--I'd like him to come on here direct! |
