Which UM Cases Do You Think Can Be Solved by Familial DNA? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hey All - with the exciting news that the "Orange Sock" killer has been caught by familial DNA some 30 years after it happened and of course the CA Night Stalker as well, I thought I'd ask those on here which UM cases would you think could be solved? For me at the top of the list is Rochelle Robinson and Michael Johnson case. I saw this one the other day (Season 8) and they did not state whether Rochelle was sexually assaulted, but the fact the killer took her so far away from the original crime scene makes me think she was. Also the Mike Reimer and Diane Robertson case...but don't think they got DNA on that one.

The short answer would be any case that they have DNA. I was just talking about the Roger Dean case...and if the killer threw his mask down, as portrayed in the reenactment....then they should have something from that and could seemingly use it to center in on the killer.

Another one that pops into my mind would be the purse from the Elizabeth Campbell case. If that was preserved in any way (doubtful) I would love for them to see if there is anything there.

Problem would be some or a lot of cases wouldn't have DNA due to police not understanding DNA or just because of bad or nefarious policework.

If Lawrence Harding, Jr. (who disappeared as a 10-week-old in Chicago in 1944) survived childhood and lived at least long enough to have offspring, he and/or his progeny could be reunited with his younger brother Geoffrey Harding and/or the younger man's surviving family via DNA matching! It seems that there were hints that the baby might have been taken to Arkansas by a train passenger and perhaps the Harding family could see if there's a possibility of a match to anyone living in that area even after all these decades.
