Default lucyfan1983 and onlyonelucy

Dawsongirl, I respect your position as a moderator and I know you have the right to close a thread if you want. But my only beef is when someone makes an untrue statement about a member of this group, then the thread is closed before that person is able to respond. Lucyfan1983 claimed that I said he/she had written that the Bart Andrews and Thomas Watson books were better alternative reading materials than the Charles Higham book, and that I needed to re-read his/her message to see that that particular statement came from a quote. The truth is I already acknowledged in a previous message that lucyfan1983 did not make that statement, but rather, it came from a review that lucyfan1983 quoted. I CLEARLY acknowledged that. However, lucyfan1983 quoted that entire review in support of his/her position without qualifying that any portion of that quote did not represent his/her views. If something is posted by a person to support their position, but no qualifying statement is made to let readers no that certain portions of the quote do not represent his/her opinion, then readers are left with no option but to believe that the quote IN ITS ENTIRETY is representative of his/her opinion. Frankly, I do believe that lucyfan1983 intended for the entire quote to represent his/her postion until he/she realized how foolish it made him/her look.

As for onlyonelucy who claims to be "close" to Lucille Ball's family, are you that Sherry person from North Carolina? If so, I already know enough about you. I know your history of being "friends" with people who you think are influencial or well connected so you can get you closer to Lucille Ball family members and friends. Once you get out of a person what you want, or if they're not able to provide whatever it is you're after, you dump them. You're hurt quite a few people, you know. You should watch Lucy's speech in "Lucy's Last Birthday" about the true meaning of friendship. I've heard more than a mouthful about you and I know just how "close" you are to Lucille Ball's family. I also know you're full of it. That's all I have to say.

Sorry. I shouldn't have posted this to the entire group. I acted impulsively and out of anger and that was wrong. I hope Dawsongirl can quickly retract this thread.

Jane, she's not full of anything. Sherry is one of my best friends and I have absolutely NO connections to Lucille Ball's family. As a matter of fact, I met them through her! She met some of Lucy's family members just by going up to them and talking to them at the conventions. I'm sorry, but I WAS THERE, and you weren't. Please don't judge other people based on hearsay (That's how this whole topic got started to---gossip!!!). She's a wonderful person. I don't know who told you this stuff because I can't think of anyone who'd say something like that. Look, I don't want to bash you in front of all of these people on the board because a) that's immature, b) it's already happened on this board enough, and c) I don't think anyone deserves that kind of treatment. I really wish you wouldn't do the same to onlyonelucy and lucyfan1983 for having their own take on this.

Dawsongirl, will you please close this one too? I'm outta here because I'm sick of all the bull, past and present. I'm going to my haven on the web.....someplace where the people don't bash Lucy---or each other. lucyfan1983, you know which place I'm talking about!

That is very understandable, but Jane, you really should have thought a bit before you posted that. I had to defend Sherry as a friend. Here's some sincere advice: Think before you speak about Lucy and about other people, ok? It helped me. Good luck.

Ok, i'm going to respond before this does get closed. i was not posting the review as my opinion, i was posting it so others could see what type of book it was that you were getting stories out of. i don't think anything i wrote made me look foolish, you are the one who looks foolish for opening a whole other thread just to tell Onlyonelucy and I off. thats stupid and childish. you should have let it drop. you seem to think you're better than everyone on here, while i was just stating my opinion and the opinions of many, many others. get over yourself. sorry dawsongirl, but i'm offended and feel the right to say my piece

You are correct. I should have thought before I posted. I acted very impulsively and out of anger when I posted that. It was wrong and I should be flogged. I don't know Sherry. As you said, all I know about her is heresay. I have no personal experience with her and therefore no right to judge her. You may shoot me.

It doesn't bother me one bit what Jane says. I know she isn't telling the truth about what she says she "heard" because I keep my business to myself and don't share my experiences with the family with ANYONE. Nobody even knows me from this board except Mel and I've spent enough time with her for her to know that I am not like that.

PEOPLE WILL SAY ANYTHING WHEN THEY ARE JEALOUS, WON'T THEY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as for you Jane, when I first got on this message board I saw that you live in the same city as I do and tried to befriend you. I thought the e-mails (few) went pretty well but I've changed my mind since I've seen the real you. A true Lucy fan would not call her a slut, first of all.
And, as far as the family............hmmmm. I have nothing to gain from being friends with the family except more respect for them and for Lucy. I didn't go hunting them to get close to them so that I could gain whatever it is you're thinking I could possibly gain. It just happened one day out of the blue that a fellow Lucy fan named Patrick and I befriended them and have become very close to them. 99% of the time when we talk on the phone with them Lucy isn't even mentioned so THERE YOU ARE!!!!!!! I am not a person that asks things of people or "uses" people but am one that has enjoyed doing things for others and helping people. THAT is what makes me happy. So, I guess if we listen to others and form our opinions from what they say a lot of us would think Lucy was a slut, huh?

By the way, thanks Mel for defending me. I love you girl

And furthermore JANE..........I haven't hurt anyone because it is not in my nature. I love people, Lucy related or not. You should be very careful when saying something about someone because you NEVER know who you are talking to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
