Smile The Feel Good Department (Part 4)

A very good friend of mine's birthday is on Monday, and this year will be the first year that I get to wish her a happy birthday on Facebook Messenger instead of emailing her.

Well yesterday I had to go to an appt, my gf was taking me and my dear neighbor Jeff helped fold my walker and put it in her backseat and when she started up her car, it would not start, so Jeff came to rescue again, went and got his battery charger and charged what appears to be a run down battery. With less driving in the last year, some cars are losing battery charges...so Jeff helped 2 dames in distress...This is my recent good feeling.

I was outside enjoying some sunshine, from where I was standing, I could see one of our local mountains (Laguna) covered in snow; it was such a pretty sight.

It's cool how southern California weather varies so much!

I agree; here I am in San Diego, where is it sunny and warm, meanwhile I have a friend who is in *Baker, California (coming back from Las Vegas), and it is snowing.

*Baker is located in the high desert region of San Bernardino County, where Southern California borders Nevada.

Yep! Baker is that really small town halfway between LA and Vegas where there are fast food restaurants for a food break and a rest ! My ex hubby and I used to drive to Vegas a lot, such a long boring drive, I couldn't wait to hit Baker !

It is a boring, long, and arduous drive.

Baker is famous for the world's tallest thermometer

As they say about So. Cal., one can go to the beach and to the mountains on the same day, and if one is hearty, swim and ski in winter the same day. The Pacific Ocean is just too cold for me, the sun and sand are nice and warm.

I did a shopping favor for an older guy on my block and he handed me a wad of $20's that I declined to take. I didn't really look, but it had to be $60.00 or $80.00

He told me that he had to give me something and if I drink alcohol, and I said "Now that I'll take." He gave me this neat Carolans Irish Cream box set that he told me he got as a gift years ago, but has no need for it.
