Default Fuller House Killed Any Chance Of Another Full House Spin-Off

https://screenrant.com/full-fuller-h...cters-problem/

There's little to no possibility of another Full House spin-off happening, and one of Fuller House's biggest failures is to blame. In the day and age of reboots and revivals, as long as there's enough clamor from the public and the people involved are interested, chances are that it will move forward. For years, John Stamos was attempting to get Full House back on the air, but it was only in 2015 when Netflix officially ordered Fuller House that it happened. As the sequel follow-up has wrapped, there are still those holding out hope that the Tanner family will return in some capacity in the future.

Kicking off in 2016, Fuller House was essentially a retread of its predecessor, only with a much bigger cast. The show focused on DJ and Stephanie, as well as Kimmy, who took the place of the youngest Tanner sister, Michelle, who didn't return after Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen refused to reprise the role. Like Danny, Jesse, and Joey, all three girls lived in the iconic San Francisco home to raise the kids together. But unlike Full House which did a great job putting the focus on its young cast, its offshoot focused mainly on its adult characters.

This approach makes sense since they're catering to existing Full House fans who were already invested. But they were so occupied with their stories that the Fuller House's kids were pushed to the side. So while there were more kids in the spin-off, they lacked the kind of character development to justify their own show, effectively killing any chance of another Full House spin-off. People came to Fuller House with a desire to learn what happened to DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy after seeing them grow up and go through their angsty teenage years. Seeing them as full adults in Full House was a thrill, especially with DJ who ended up with her high school sweetheart Steve.

Of course, it's still possible Full House could launch another spin-off with one of the characters from Fuller House, but the main draw is still just from the original cast. While the Netflix Originals' final season offered a great opportunity to focus on new characters like Jackson and/or Ramona as they start college, it's a risky project to take. The pair have had their fair share of stories from Fuller House, but they're not nearly enough to make for complete arcs the way their Full House predecessors had. This was such a big missed opportunity for Fuller House, as not only did they have more kids to push forward, they were also more varied in age and mannerism, offering them a string of opportunities for interesting storylines.

At this point, the most plausible way to continue Full House would be to green light Fuller House season 6. Another outing of the Netflix spin-off would give it the opportunity to finally focus on its young cast after DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy have all sorted out their respective love lives. It turns out, this was actually the plan as the cast and crew were operating on the idea that they still had more time after the triple wedding, but considering the low viewership of Fuller House, that may not ever be a priority for Netflix.
