The current shots for the bug were not designed or tested to provide immunity, they are in fact biologics and the mRNA shots have never been formally tested for safety. The phase 2 & phase 3 (safe and effective) testing is not complete at this time. The shots were approved under Emergency Use guidelines that does not require these things to be proven safe or effective. You should read the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech application for emergency use applications. Also ready the package insert that ships with each of these.
