Following in the footsteps of NBC's Today and ABC's Good Morning America FOX tried to compete with their own answer called Fox After Breakfast which debuted in 1995. The show featured two cohosts and a puppet star as they discussed various topics of the day ranging from news to celebrity gossip cooking segments and more. Although the format was interesting Fox After Breakfast failed and was cancelled after one season but it was worth a try for FOX to get a morning talk show to attract an audience
