Default Clayton was so full of himself

At the end of the episode where Clayton visits the girls and brings his boyfriend, Doug with him and announces to them that he and Doug are getting married, Blanche walks into Clayton and Doug’s guest room to apologize to them. Blanche then asks Doug if he loves Clayton because she can’t have him marrying just anyone. Clayton then replies saying “Doug loves me for who I am, not for who he wants me to be”. Blanche says “I guess I deserved that”. Clayton says “I guess you do”.

Couldn’t he see that Blanche was trying to apologize to him?

He had to go and f*ck up that moment

She did deserve that... and Clayton was just being honest.

Of course she did. Considering Blanche's behavior, she was lucky he was gracious enough to forgive her so quickly.

Yeah but Blanche was trying to apologize and Clayton interrupted him with a smart ass remark. He ruined the ending of the episode for me. I mean it’s what he wanted, didn’t he? An apology. Blanche was easy on him. I would’ve slapped and said:

Look here, I’m trying to apologize and I don’t need you to interrupt me. You’re the one who wanted an apology, obviously. Now if you don’t want me to apologize, I won’t and I’ll send your ass out of here, packed or unpacked rather you want to leave or not.

That’s why I didn’t like him. He was so full of himself. He was like Dorothy’s son. Selfish and full of himself. I guess it ran in The Hollingsworth Family one way or the other.

Yes, she did. Blanche disowning and unaccepting her brother because of his sexuality just was absurd and disgusting and discriminating. But by the end of the episode Blanche had a change of heart and had the heart to apologize to Clayton but he didn’t want to give in and repeatedly interrupted her with smart ass comments. He should’ve just explained Blanche he was hurt by her discrimination and it would be hard to forgive her. It was Blanche who apologized to HIM, not vice versa.

Blanche having conniptions over a loving gay couple is really rich considering what a bed-hopper she was.

While I agree she did deserve it, it would have been better left unsaid - she was trying to extend an olive branch.

I also agree Blanche got what she deserved. I never liked this episode or the episode where Blanche is ashamed her daughter is pregnant. Good grief, she is going to be a grandma and she was more concerned if someone in the hospital would know it was her daughter. Her daughter was old enough to make decisions and have a baby. I also hated when Blanche was ashamed that her soldier date was a pharmacist. I just thought these episodes were dumb and did not fit the Blanche character and the writers were desperate for scripts for drama.

Exactly. “Canon” Blanche was a little vain and selfish at times but she would never go to the extreme. Poor writing.

So weird. About 20 mins after I posted here. This episode came on TV Land today. You cant make this stuff up. Blanche was really mean. Its not that she did not care for her brother to be gay or get married. She was angry they accepted Rose's invitation to the banquet. Blanche did not want to be seen with her brother. She finally shows up and Clayton thinks she has come to apologize but nope. She dissed Clayton again. Who would know or care if someone was gay sitting at a table at a banquet dinner? To be ashamed to be in the same room as your brother because he is gay and has his bf there is very extreme. I know that Blanche comes around in the end but I dont like this episode.
