I did not realize that until the other day when she was on a show with short, grey hair!!!!

I saw the short gray hair, and wondered if she'd been wearing a wig, too. But it didn't seem like it, based on the scene with her and "Adam" in the RV.

But after some investigation, the Daily Mail basically confirms it is a wig:

Instead of her long brunette tresses, she sported a casual white bob, though it wasn't clear if she'd wear a wig when shooting began or if she was trying out a new look for season eight.

...So, well-spotted!

The Mom star has worn wigs and extensions throughout her career. “I cannot tell you how amazing it is to feel free. Free from hair color and hair extensions and hair tapes and blah blah blah,” Janney said on The Drew Barrymore Show. Janney added: “I really do have a love of wigs and I think they’re so transformative. Even before I made it as an actress, when I was back in New York, I would put on wigs to go to the grocery store just for fun. Everyone knows I wear a wig on the Mom program for sure.”
