Mondays are My 3 Sons days for me. This past Monday I saw a really great episode. I actually laughed out loud several times during it and at the end I even started to actually applaud (something I never do) but caught myself after the first clap. It was that good. The episode was 4-16 "Will Success Spoil Chip Douglas?". It's another terrific Bub episode featuring him and Chip. As he teaches an at first hesitant thesbian Chip to lay on the "schmaltz" and "turn on the old personality". It sounded so funny coming from Bub telling this to a little kid, Chip. Then Chip goes all out and lays out that schmaltz and lights up his personality with energy to the classroom as he performs as Columbus, THE discoverer of America. Chip turning into a big performer was hilarious.
Bub even sings the first line of a song for Chip (I wish I could remember which song it was). For a great couple examples of Bub singing from his album hear episode 16 and then episode 32 on Sounds Like Radio here, a new episode is also posted each week :https://anchor.fm/your-humble-host/e...le-Host-ejj7j1 This was a terrific My 3 Sons episode that comes along every so often in this series. I love all episodes, but ones like this stand out for me.

Excellent show as I just watched it on Youtube. I plead guilty to not seeing all the black and white episodes. I did notice that Ernie was in the same class as Chip. I thought he was younger as in elementary school age and Chip was junior high age so found that interesting. I do not remember graded mixing in my school until I got into high school. |
