Almost all are good-great shows. The Mary Tyler Moore Show does not get discussed that often anymore here, but to me it is one of the best sitcoms of all time. It also has one one of the best theme songs ever made for a TV show. Both versions of the song, although the first seasons song is the best in my opinion. It also has some of the best openings of any show ever made. I would put Mary Tyler Moore and Hawaii 5-0( the original and only version as far as I am concerned) as the two shows with the greatest openings and theme songs or music in Hawaii 5-Os case ever made.

I think those are all great choices, except for That's My Mama, which I don't know.

It was a short lived show from the 70s that starred Clifton Davis, Theresa Merritt, who played Clifton’s mother, Ted Lange from The Love Boat, Theodore Wilson who played Sweet Daddy Williams on Good Times and more. I listed That’s My Mama because the first season was great but the second season was horrible. No wonder it was canceled.

This list is pretty much what a publication like Entertainment Weekly would have picked. I would swap out four shows, however, because Flip Wilson and Carol Burnett were not sitcoms but variety shows. I don't think The Ropers and That's My Mama had good enough ratings or made a big pop culture impact to deserve inclusion, so they seem more like personal choices--which is fine by me. But for a more rounded and critical list, I would have included Here's Lucy, MASH and WKRP in Cincinnati, even though they aren't personal faves.
