My aunt had a giant crush on Engelbert Humperdinck and I don't know why he was my aunt's big crush at the time but everytime she would see Engelbert on TV or anywhere else my aunt would get all dreamy and stare off into space. And when she would go shopping with my mom she would spend her money on Engelbert Humperdinck record albums and each time my aunt listened to After The Loving or any song she would get the album cover and cuddle it like a child cuddling a teddy bear. But even today my aunt still likes Engelbert and likes his songs a lot

Sadly I need to report on the following:

Engelbert's wife Patricia Healey died this past Thursday, age 85, having contracted COVID-19. They were married for 56 years.

His many fans are reaching out with messages of condolence. Engelbert is still a very active singer and maintains YouTube submissions, like his "Tuesday Museday."

I had read of his wife dying from covid!

Very sad, they were together a lot of years !

So sorry for Engelbert ! Many prayers to him !

My mom loved Engelbert , so I was very familiar with his music ! My favorites are " Man without love" , " Winter world of love ", " Release me", " After the lovin'" !

Thanks for posting that! I have quite a few Dean Martin Show DVDs but had not seen that performance. Lots of nice-looking women on his show -- I like to play the intro over and over just to see one of the dancers (the one with the darkest hair) -- so beautiful.

Thanks for the replies everyone -- I'm trying to rank another 5 Enge songs but can't decide where to place The Last Waltz and After the Lovin'. Quando is okay, I also like his version of Spanish Eyes.

Engelbert turned 85 on May 2 and shows no signs of slowing down, with some big live performances planned.

A radio station near me was playing "Winter World of Love" when I was in my car yesterday.

When I was really little, my grandma had his "Release Me" 8-Track tape. It was among a few tapes she used to play in her 1966 Chevy II as she drove me around.

My Favorite Songs From That Album:

That's neat! I used play some of my dad's Engelbert cassettes at home. It's nice that you too can associate a memory with the songs & recorded media. Here are my next ranked favorites:

Did any of you watch Engelbert's mini-concert at home on YouTube, during the COVID shutdown? I thought it turned out really well.
