Perhaps you can recall watching Rankin-Bass's magical movie The Last Unicorn way back in 1982? I just happened to learn about this wonderful movie through Youtube and I adore collecting anything with unicorns so this movie was right up my alley. The movie starred the voices of Alan Arkin Jeff Bridges Angela Lansbury and Mia Farrow and is based on a novel of the same name. The title song and other songs in The Last Unicorn are performed by 70's band America and is very soothing to listen to and The Last Unicorn was also covered by Kenny Loggins for his children's album. I suggest you give the movie a watch for yourself and see how magical it is

Hi, Bestie! I remember that movie. It was pretty good. I didn't know the music in it became so popular. I also did not know America did the music. I always thought they were one hit wonders. Thanks for the trivia!

One of the best animated movies from the 80s. Peter S Beagle who wrote the book this is based on also wrote the screenplay. Beagle also wrote the screenplay for the 1978 animated adaption of Lord Of The Rings.

I have the book of The Last Unicorn that also includes Beagle's first novel A Fine And Private Place.

Does the unicorn in The Last Unicorn have a name? I would love to know her name? I thought Mia Farrow was so wonderful voicing the unicorn and really did a nice job of it

The Unicorn does not have a name, the only name is when she is in human form that Schmendrick gives to her after making her human.
