Bev Ann would just ruin the war, much like she did the ending years.

YESSSS!! LIZZIE CAN TELL YOU WHY MRS. GARRETT WOULD WIN!!!
thank you, that was a wonderful intro to my 30 minutes speech...lol...jk, i'll keep it short...

Mrs. G would win, because, well, let's face it, she MADE the show. The whole show, started as a spin-off around her...therefore, no Mrs. G=No FOL (I must write another letter to Charlotte...)

Beverly Ann as I've said before, and gotten really bashed for it...is annoying...IMO! I CAN NOT stand the way she walks around being so naive...i mean, it's cute from Rose on Golden Girls...but...that's another story...

Mrs. G...had the best advice...nuff' said

HAd IT NOT BEEN FOR MRS. G, Jo, everyone's favorite character(well..you knowhat I mean...the majority's favorite her/Blair, I am NOT in that majority, but, I used to be ) would not have stayed at Eastland...take a look at "The New Girl Part 2" Mrs. G convinced her to stay...even if she did use guilt...A HA!!! lol..guilt is a nice thing when you can use it against people....ahem...moving on...

Mrs. G...IMO...went together with the girls MUCH better than BA(Beverly Ann, for those who are acronym impaired...like me..it took me forever to figure out IMO!!! )

And lastly, Mrs. G was just....Mrs. G!! I mean...how can you not love her??!

Mrs G. would win by far, because she has better qualities.

Example Number One-

º Mrs. G has wonderful advice. She cares, talks, etc.

º Beverly Ann has horrible advice. She cares, but when talks, never has good advice, because she's a screwed up nutcase.

for sure Mrs. G, I liked Cloris Leachman as Phyllis on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, but she just didn't fit in with the show I think. Mrs. Garett had better advice and was that warm friendly type and Beverly Ann gave bad advice and had a big mouth.

Go LIZZIE!

Ok Now I am going to say my piece;

Truthfully I think if Mrs G would have stayed, she would have adopted Andy. I think she would have been a much better mother than Beverly Ann; She was not mother material. Secondly, I think that the girls were better off living with Mrs Garrett because she gave them so much love, advice, and good laughs. What did Beverly Ann give them? Zip, Zero, Ziltch! And like you said, Rose from The Golden Girls was much funnier than Beverly Ann. And Mrs Garrett did MAKE the show and she MADE Diff'rent Strokes too (For the short length of time she was there).

And if Beverly Ann and Mrs Garrett got in a war, who's side would the girls be on? But of course, it would be Mrs Garrett they would defend!

Whoo, That was tiring! Is that enough or should I say more to defend Mrs G???

Mrs. Garrett would put us to sleep with her annoying lessons and sayings. Beverly Ann would make us laugh at her stories and keep us entertaining! Beverly Ann is great. I like both but I will always like Beverly Ann more than Mrs. Garrett.

I agree. Mrs. Garrett helped raise 4 girls into women she should have raised Andy to. To bad she didn't take that kid with her to Africa. I would have loved to see the show with out Andy. But on the topic on a better mother, definetly Mrs. Garrett.

Ya know what CLF? I would like to commend you. Here is a thread pretty much puttin' down Beverly Ann, yet you retain your cool and dignity. Personally, THANK YOU for doin' that---I just read a certain thread on here that had a fight started by a now-non FOL fan , and it's so nice to see someone in the minority of a thread be civilized and agreeable!

I prefer Mrs. Garrett myself---I happen to love her stories, think they're quite amusing, and I find her advice heartwarming and poignant (especially in Charlotte's acting and delivery). But am I yellin' at you? No. Because even though we think differently here, you expressed your feelings in a respectful way, and you still like Mrs. Garrett, which I think is kinda big of you since several people seem to not like Beverly Ann. (I happen to like her, just that I prefer Mrs. Garrett).

So, "ClorisLeachmanFan", thanks for stayin' polite and and kind. After readin' that other horrendous thread (thanks to that trouble-maker), it warms my heart.

(I apologize for goin' on about this, but it's 3:45 a.m., and I tend to get more "open" late at night, lol)...

Byron

Well I like Mrs. Garrett. I thought she was funny in season 2, defenietly season 7 and my favorite episode with her is Out of Peekskill. Not because that was her last episode but the way her and Cloris Leachman acted together. Plus when Mrs. G & Tootie were talking about who whould give her away, Tootie was "I'll give you away" and Mrs. G was "You could do that. You could just give me away?" Mrs. Garrett cracked me up! I know FOL fans like to bash Beverly Ann and thats ok, to me imo she was a great character and I didn't think she ruined the last season of FOL.

ditto! (even if you are thinking that I was 'trouble maker')Didn't we debate this before? lol! yea...I don't HATE Beverly Ann...I just didn't see a reason for her on the show, and thought she was annoying...she had a good heart, but Just not my cup of tea I guess...
