I agree. It's like, how can it not be on TV/DVD.

Cool ITA!

I completely agree with you guys! I've never seen any show that compares to Wonder Years! There's just something so unique about it that sets it apart from the rest.

Mr. Gellar: There she is!
Joey: Check it out, some girl ate Monica!
Monica: Shut up, the camera adds 10 pounds!!
Chandler: So, how many cameras are actually on you?

You're right, the Wonder Years has something very unique. It's the only tv show that made me cry tears and tears.....

There are two shows I find comparable to The Wonder Years:

The Waltons, like TWY, "took place" before it was actually filmed (1933-1946 compared to 1972-1981). Both series occurred during wars: TWY during the Vietnam War and The Waltons during World War II. Both series also had tear-jerking material--while TWY had the "Heart Break/Denial" two-fer (Winnie breaking up with Kevin outside the museum), The Waltons had quite a few, especially "The First Casualty" (Erin's boyfriend G. W. Haines is killed in training) and "Day of Infamy" (Mary Ellen's husband Curt is (presumed) killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, only to turn up in Florida a few episodes later).

The Brady Bunch is comedy while TWY is drama, but it is set in almost the same time frame (1969-1974) as TWY (1968-1973). The houses in which the Arnolds and the Bradys lived appear to be about the same age and style (I'll bet Mike designed the Arnold house too! What an architect!). However, I find Marcia Brady prettier than Winnie Cooper.

The Wonder Years is my single favorite show of all time.
Bob Brush explained it well on the recent A&E Special...
while the Wonder Years wasn't the funniest show or the most
groundbreaking .... it made us laugh and cry while allowing us to look back at our own childhood experiences with wonder....
HOW CAN TELEVISION GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT !!!!

OK, I've seen a couple that come pretty close to WY, and the biggest one that comes to mind is Gilmore Girls! That show is so unique and hilarious!

Don't worry.

Wonder Years will make it onto DVD, it just takes some time.
A lot of TV shows are being released on DVD, many which make you scratch your head as to why. But I am sure it is some sort of development phase right now or will be soon.

You can vote for its release on dvd at www.tvshowsondvd.com

It can't hurt.
