Default So I finally saw the Finale and I was wondering why...............

Mel's mother wasnt there so her annoying ass appeared so many times through out the years

I dont think it was mentioned what tommy was doing Im guessing he was college but when Alice said she was going to Nashville I figured she was going to take him since he was so young

Vera a mother??? Ah Na LOL

I was surprised to see clips of Flo since she never returned to the show

And I wonder was there an additional scene that followed when aired live on CBS after they all left Mel's diner for the last time

It was a decent finale considering Seasons 8 and 9 were pure crap.

Alice JTS when Belle left and that annoying ass Jolene came about. I’m definitely not buying the Seasons 6-9 DVDs.

I've got DVD recordings I made from ION/PAX years back. I keep waiting on a full-series set, too, because those IONs are so heavily edited, and I didn't get all the episodes, either.

Checking Antenna tomorrow night, the finale is the 16th episode of the season. Does anyone know why the shortened season?

I would like to know that myself. Season 1 and season 9 were the only seasons to end in march

I agree with you. I didn't care for Jolene either. By the time she came in, the show was already doing episode remakes of the Flo years. Season 8 is probably the worst because it's so out of order. One episode we see Vera married and then the next she's not and meeting her husband's partner for the first time in Vera The Horse Thief. I remember that episode confused the hell out of me because the partner was at their wedding. CBS didn't seem to care about this show after Jolene was added. I said this before, I do think Alice was just a show CBS could fill a time slot with because they didn't have anything better at the time to replace it with.

Jolene in IMO did what she is supposed to do, not steal the spotlight and stay in her lane

It’s a tie between Seasons 8 and 9 both seasons have a great lack in writing, Jolene and Vera and Elliot or “Velliot” ruin both, both seasons were tiring and repetitive, although Season 9 might win with “Mrs. Walden”.

I got sick of hearing her extremely exaggerated and grating southern accent, and her randomly bringing up and boasting about her damn Granny Gums. And I thought the Flo’s accent was heavy. She was also boring and dull and just uninteresting half of the time, she was almost like Terri from TC personality wise except Jolene had a little more depth and character in her. She also lacked in the chemistry department the show was already healing with the loss of Flo in late Season 4 and and the recent departure of Belle, we didn’t need Jolene as a replacement. She didn’t have to necessarily steal the spotlight but she didn’t have to ruin it at the same time either. Belle and especially Flo were much better and way more tolerant.

I couldn’t see Vera as a mother either. She’d nearly suffocate the baby tripping on the baby cradle and would probably mess up the baby’s ENTIRE childhood with her dumbness and neuroticness. Elliot wouldn’t help either as he wasn’t too bright as well.

I was surprised to see clips of Flo as well ‘cause remember as soon as Belle got added and got credited into the intro they cut out the parts with Flo remember before there was a scene with Mel in his chef suit carrying a tray of “turkey” with Alice, Vera, and Flo on the side? After Flo left and Belle got added and got credited it was just Alice and Vera. LOL.

I didn’t like him from the start. Not only was he ANOTHER annoying character and just totally goofy and dimwitted, Vera looked more like his MOTHER than his wife.
