Actually it was their Photo Album +-

Ward at 1st acted like he didn't recognize Beaver's Baby Picture (partly nude) then a few seconds later he tells a story about it ...

And then in the photo album is a picture of Beaver & Larry in Larry's sister's bedroom - that photo could never have existed

Did Beaver actually talk June into inviting Miss Landers to dinner as June says ? I thought June suggested it and arranged it (?)

btw the dress Miss Landers wore to dinner at Beaver's house was an off the shoulders gown with a very low front neckline - go figure - I laughed when the camera zoomed in on her open toe shoes LOL

Next was a picture of Beav Wally & Ward in the boys bedroom when Wally ran for Class President - kinda an odd for June to be taking that picture +- ?

So goes Hollywood ...

It was June's idea to invite Miss Landers, she talked to Ward about how it was something they did when they were kids, and Ward talked about a teacher coming to his house and they ended up all standing around a piano singing.

I wouldn't put it past Mrs Mondelo to have hidden cameras all around the house.

I'm not a big fan of that finale episode, for the reason you mentioned (the pictures are not plausible) and also because the explanation for Beaver's name is lame and unnecessary.

Fun episode looking back. Ironic the photos are from videos ending a series with a lot of writing holes to fuel discussion some 60 years later.

That finishes up LITB watching start to finish for me. About an episode a day. I rated each episode 1-10. My average of all was 7.55. Almost exactly what thousands of IMDb raters averaged out to. A fun experience.

There was a slight problem with what grade Beaver was in all along, even in this episode. In one of the first clips Ward says the picture, I think from 'Spelled, is from the first grade; he's supposedly in the second grade. Then later they talk about the class picture and they try to correct it to the sixth grade.

But other than that nit-picking, yes, it was a fun episode, with clever use of the wind-up toy, at the beginning and the end.

The incredible choice of the iconic cast carried the writers on their backs. A lot of the horrible scripts wouldn't work unless the "lighting in a bottle " cast were readng the lines. Also could be 25 rehashed script episodes. Actually some weren't bad. A lot were. The writers did write many gems. But with the 39 episode a season demands the writers sold out a lot on missed opportunities with minimal effort push it out stories done quickly I assume.

In that respect I think it would have been easier had been more 25 shows like now.

Even back then very few if any other sitcoms pumped out 39 episodes for six straight seasons. With that kind of output you're gonna get some clunkers, particularly in the last two seasons when they increasingly used the same writers (primarily Conway and MacLane).

One thing I noticed is Hugh Beaumont directed a lot of clunkers which surprised me. You'd think as also a cast member he'd be offended by script writing going through the motions.

Jerry Mathers maturing burst was targeted poorly. When he was treated like a young intelligent teen episodes were mostly better. But dealing with kids there's only so many ways to go as opposed to scripts for adults. Then 39 episodes had to be brutally hard.

I've started watching Maude on IMDb tv. They've got the first 2 seasons. The sky's the limit on their script theme choice. Talk about 2 great shows being opposite. What's the first thing you think about with the show "Maude"? Yeah... Adrienne Barbeau is the right answer?

Well it ain't Bea! AB was THE reason to watch Maude.

About Jerry's growth spurt--they probably didn't think beforehand, what'll we do? Connelly and Mosher acknowledged it by writing (along with veteran screen play writers Katherine and Dale Eunson) Nobody Loves Me, which IMO is really a good episode about the awkward age. But after that they were still cranking out silly episodes like the boys buying the burro.
