I’m sure this has been mentioned but couldn’t find the thread. Have times changed. Kathy steals that life size cardboard cut-out from the movie theater. She refers to him as the Zulu and Cardboard Native. Jim can’t stand him staring at him and wants to call the Immigration office and have him deported. The most shocking moment is when he’s named Floyd. Who wooda thought how these things happen.
Also in the one when Kathy writes to the mayor it’s so funny to hear Betty say to the mayor’s son “Is that your final answer?” and Millionaire would make that a catch phrase. |

Yeah I'm sure a lot of people viewing that Zulu figure episode would see how different the times were.
Another episode called "Whistle Bait," also shows the differences. Back then females tolerated being whistled at. No more... |

Right being whistled at made you feel all bubbly wubbly like Mavis in Andy Griffith. Guys could talk off color around women and not bat an eye. I felt very uncomfortable at a cafe table when 2 co-workers started getting graphic in their conversation and I said “Do ya mind!”

LOL. Mavis--she cracked me up. They should have brought her back. She or nearly anyone else would have been better for Andy than Helen.

I never could stand Helen. She seemed very mean when she first met Andy about the students and American history. Always seemed to argue with Andy and later the jealousy. She was Andy’s girlfriend off the show so she stayed. I liked Joanna Moore but she was too toxic to be around Andy.

Sorry to be off-topic, but I also liked Elinor Donahue--but hick Andy from season 1 got on my nerves.
And that Helen--UGH! She got bent out of shape in the fun girls episodes (so did Thelma Lou, for that matter). Excuse me, was Andy engaged to Helen? I think not! |
