Default I wonder if Archie would support Donald Trump

I'd like to see All in the Family set in today's times... I can imagine the heated fights Archie and Mike would have regarding Trump

He definitely would - he’d buy into the fiction that Biden & Harris are anarchist Socialists.

He would've, if you look at the early seasons of AITF. But, in later seasons and ABP, he changed a bit. So, who knows?

Right, All in the Family Archie would have definitely supported Trump, but Archie Bunker's Place Archie changed quite a bit, so he might not have supported Trump especially after the capitol riots, but I could see that Archie dumping Trump long before the deadly riot.

But how much did he really change? Remember this:

- he insulted Kathryn's WHOLE FAMILY when she invited him to dinner
- he thought Polly was the maid working next door when she was actually the new neighbor, not to mention what he thought about her husband Ed
- he tried to get Edith to show the house to only white folk when Louise put it up for rent
- he still had a problem with Jewish people and still made condescending remarks about them

She'd tell him who she voted for weeks after the fact.

So, at which point would Archie have quit supporting Donald Trump? The moment the COVID-19 Pandemic hit the U.S., and Mr. Trump's and the U.S. Government's subsequent slow response to the emerging pandemic (I'll bet it would take one of Archie's friends and family members dying from COVID-19)?

I've always wondered about Edith's political views, I always wanted to think she was not like Archie, BUT in the opening song, Those Were the Days, her views seem quite in line with his.

I disagree. Edith was a sweetheart. She befriended Louise Jefferson without a care and she often told Archie how wrong he was, in her own ways.

In “Archie and the KKK”, Archie unknowingly joins a front group for the KKK that plans to harass Mike. When he realizes his blunder, he attempts to offset the damage, but only makes matters worse.
It’s an often-overlooked episode from what should have been the show’s final season. For eight years Archie has spouted off his bigoted and racist views in total ignorance. But seeing this story years later, it teaches two important things:
First, this is where bigotry and racism lead. Hate and violence. Second, that road leads to division in families and mistrust. This forces Archie to put his family’s safety above those views. At the time I thought Mike's reaction was a little over the top. I no longer feel that way.
