For Christmas I got a Stranger Things Funko plush of Will and I have never understood why Stranger Things has become so popular ever since it's debut on Netflix? Is it because it's a very additive show to watch or is Stranger Things trying to become the new The X-Files? Because I have seen everything from Christmas ornaments to valentines to Eggo Waffles with Stranger Things and it tells me that Stranger Things is gonna have a bigger fanbase than Game Of Thrones had. Is Stranger Things gonna be a mega hit fad as the years go by?

Hi, Bestie! People like weird tv shows and this one is real weird. They also like to blame things like the government or aliens for the weirdness. So, yes, it should be popular like the XFiles was. Remember how popular Zombies were for so long?

I think the '80s nostalgia is another factor in the show's success. Even the opening credits feel full of '80s kitsch.
