I was watching The Merv Griffin Show on Tubi and June Carter Cash was on there. She was talking about how Johnny Cash and their son, John Carter were going to be on an episode of Alice and that John Carter was a big fan of the show, but that they weren't getting to film it then because of an actors strike. Then she said something about being good friends with Diane Ladd. It looks like no episode with Johnny Cash and John Carter Cash ever aired. I thought that it was interesting. Is it possible that Jerry Reed ending up taking their place?

It's possible. There's not any documentaries on this show so it's hard to know what was to be planned. I'm surprise E! never did a true Hollywood story on Alice since they were airing reruns back in the day. They did one on The Facts of Life and there wasn't any dirt to make that exciting enough to watch. I would have liked to have seen some kind of special for Alice where the cast talks about their time on the show and what they liked / disliked about it. It's odd how Alice lasted 9 years and was a suppose hit during its run but there was hardly any publicity for it. It makes me think CBS only kept Alice around for network filler.
