In 1988 exercise king Richard Simmons debuted his best selling workout video series Sweating To The Oldies. And with awesome commercials proved that these videos promoted exercise in a fun way and soon after more Sweating To The Oldies sequels were being added more commercials were made and made Richard Simmons a huge superstar with even more commercials for products such as the Deal-a-Meal diet system. There was more Richard Simmons videos and commercials added to the Sweating To The Oldies series. Some of the videos were Platinum Sweat "a video for seniors" Sweating To The Oldies 3 and Sweating To The Classics which featured Richard exercising to classical music. I thought these commercials were really cool and fun to see and would help make Richard Simmons a huge star

I can remember my mother buying one of Richard Simmons Sweating To The Oldies tapes at a thrift shop for my dad and when Mom and Dad started exercising to Sweating To The Oldies I found it really funny and the video tape Mom got which turned out to be Sweating To The Oldies 2 is actually the funnest of the Sweating To The Oldies series and when I saw Mom and Dad exercising along with the video I would laugh and laugh. I wonder now that Richard Simmons is gone now if these tapes will be a collector's item? Ever since the debut of Sweating To The Oldies in 1988 who knew that Richard Simmons would launch a Caesar's Empire of fitness videos that would make him a household name in fitness. Richard also launched Spanish language versions of the Sweating To The Oldies series and later did another series called Sit Tight which consisted of sitting exercises

I think when Richard Simmons launched the Sweating To The Oldies series I think Richard knew how to gain his audience because with this series of exercise videos soon hitting the market Richard Simmons knew he would have competition with Denise Austin and Jane Fonda whose exercise videos were giant sellers at stores. And by the time Sweating To The Oldies debuted in 1988 Richard's fortune had smiled on him. And it's no secret why the Sweating To The Oldies series is still a huge seller today even though Richard Simmons died last year and I think thanks to this series Richard would go on to hawk other fitness products and I think when you're a huge celebrity selling fitness and diet products is one way to start your career flowing
