Yeah. It seems like only in the episodes when they use it is when it's there.

I doubt it...

If it is plugged in, it's probably connected to somewhere on the set, so they can make it ring on command.

What I want to know is where I can get a phone like the one in the hotel Dorothy and Sophia stayed at. It was inside a clam shell, bolted to the table. Sophia tried to steal it, but it wouldn't budge!

The only other phone I know of is in the kitchen. I never saw them anywhere else...

all of the bed rooms had a telephone you jut have to look hard and they had one on the back porch

I think it was one of those things that was just there for convienence. For instance, in the episode where Blanche's grandson David comes to visit and she calls Janet, she calls her from the lanai. That's the only example I can think of for a phone being there.

I think it would be nice to have a telephone installed in a certain room only when I needed it.

I watched an episode today (Big Daddy marries Margaret, a much younger widow) and in one of the last scenes (in which Blanche and Sophia are reading a post card from BD) and I saw the telephone in its usual spot, to the right of the sofa.

The phone on the lanai (when Blanche's grandson was visiting) was a cordless phone I believe
