Buying Ann and the girls $100 worth of groceries which would be $500 today and was willing to pay for Julie to go to Private school for $900 and she wasnt even his daughter and that would have been.........$5000 today lol

Agreed! He was basically begging her to marry him! Didn't he realize if she did it most likely would be just to use him for financial security ?
