Rahul Kohli As Fox Mulder

In 2020, Rahul Kohli portrayed Owen in Mike Flanagan's The Haunting Of Bly Manor. Owen's character is charming, clever, and enjoys cheesy puns as well as cooking. His personality is what makes Kohli stand out as a potential actor for the role of Fox Mulder. Duchovny's character has a unique sense of humor that is remarkably witty, somewhat subtle, and sometimes inappropriate. Scully is known for being skeptical as well as Mulder's voice of reason. Based on both actors' method of acting, their tonality in serious scenarios is remarkable similar. For instance, Winstead's role as Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World has a stern, yet soft voice, which would translate well into her portrayal of the special agent. In 2020, Sarah Paulson is one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, making her the ideal candidate for Walter Skinner, especially considering her ability to shift from friend to foe and vice versa in Ratched.

Jurnee Smollett As Monica Reyes

Jurnee Smollett has acted in the horror genre since she was 10 years old and starred in Kasi Lemmons' Eve's Bayou. In 2020, she starred as Letitia "Leti" Lewis in Misha Green's series adaptation of Matt Ruff's novel, Lovecraft Country. Her portrayal of the character was filled with vigor as well as heart, making her the show's biggest and most unexpected hero.

Smollett would be the perfect actor to take on the role of Monica Reyes (Annabeth Gish), who is known for her incredible knowledge on folklore and mythology. As she already dealt with similar contents in Green's series, her ability to take on the role of the special agent would be fairly familiar territory. David Harbour As John Doggett

John Doggett (Robert Patrick) is a man with a lot of heart who holds it in to maintain his tough exterior and presence. David Harbour would be the perfect actor to take on the role in 2020, as it is reminiscent of his current portrayal of Sheriff Hopper in Stranger Things. Doggett and Hopper share a lot of similarities and, as such, Harbour is more than prepared to take on the role.

While he has a tough exterior himself, Harbour also adds a soft side to each of his characters, which would be needed in the case of John Doggett. Harbour has been part of several science fiction projects in the past, including War Of The Worlds and Frankenstein's Monster's Monster, Frankenstein. Harbour could bring the same amount of toughness to the role of John Doggett in a 2020 recasting of The X-Files with the addition of some comedic elements to offset the original character's overly sharp edges.
