In the MeTV ep today Wally’s License,, Wally trains with an obnoxious girl who keeps trying to subtly (well really not so subtly) belittle him and show him up. Love how he passes the driving test towards the end and she doesn’t. Ha! Divine Justice.
And a nice plus is having Eddie pop in to the Cleavers and spout his usual b.s. Ward and June’s reaction is priceless (and boy YOU KNOW what they were thinking but of course June would be too ladylike to say it!) Besides Judy Hensler (whose examples would be too voluminous) any other girls on LITB who behaved like this? And of course any comments, tidbits or insights on the ep would be great too. |

Wally, to Shirley: You might think you were ready for the Indianapolis or somethin'!
Then she goes on and flunks her driving test. |

Oh, to answer the original question, other than Wally's Shirley, there was Beaver's Shirley, who called him a sheepdog. This prompted him to glue his hair down with some dippity-do type stuff called Glama-Spray.

Then there's the autobiography episode, with that wonderful girl, Betsy. That annoying wench plotted to write a fake report for Beaver, because he had called her names behind her back.
She should have just refused to do the report. |

Maybe Beaver should have refused to call her names behind her back? Actually, a wench can be a good thing.

Good point. He called her names behind her back, and went on to use her anyway.

I was annoyed at the fact that the driving instructor didn't make her sit back and shut UP because what she did while Wally was learning was most disruptive and should've gotten her kicked out the lesson....
"know-it-all hag"...glad she flunked.. |

I agree that Mr. Barnstead or Barnstorm didn’t handle the situation. Wally sat quietly while she drove. Then she’s super obnoxious towards Wally telling him how to drive and how the ignition works. The teacher should have told her to sit back and shut the hell up or she would walk home.
Wally drove so badly for someone who was smart and knew about cars. Pushing on the gas while in reverse was really scary. I was in a slow zone walking into a store the other day and a guy slows down for a pedestrian then accelerates towards me and I had to run out of the way. He didn’t even see me. My son said ‘people are wacky these days.’ |
