Default Patti/Linda

Last week, I caught the lone pre-marriage episode where Kathy’s daughter, played by Leilani Sorensen, appeared. My TiVo listing - as well as reference books - list Kathy’s daughter as being called “Patti” in this episode. And implying that the character was renamed Linda when the show returned for a new season after the Danny/Kathy marriage.

Well, the character was called Linda from the get-go. Perhaps she was named “Patti” in the original script, but as aired, Leilani Sorensen played Linda. She was also obnoxious and unlikeable, so I can understand why she was recast.

Right, that first Linda was horrible.

Angela Cartwright was a great recast. The older she got the cuter she was.

I guess the thinking was that since Danny could change apartments every single year without offering any kind of explanation, they could also change Lindas at least once!

Oh, but the irony was that the ginger Terry and Rusty looked more like Kathy while the brunette Linda looked more like Danny- despite each of them being the stepparents not the parents of the kids mentioned!

Yeah those apt. changes all the time were pretty unique. They must have gotten a new art director every season! And the set dresser came in and said, Not again!

Yeah I've always liked Angela Cartwright. Even liked her in Sound of Music.

I as well thought that the constant apartment-change was interesting and yes, there was never an explanation. Also interesting that Seasons 5/6 stayed the same and then in Seasons 9-11 also remained; I think that was the more luxurious of them ALL!
