I know that might seem like saying the sun is yellow, but was really touched by the two LITB ep on MeTV today.
In the first, Wally’s Dinner Date, Wally needs a lot of dough to take a girl to an expensive restaurant, and Wards lend him a sizable amount for the time $15. Poor Wally and his date finish eating and he forgets his wallet. Rather than come down and embarrass him, Ward calls the Maitre D’ and arranges everything on the QT. In the second ep, “Beaver’s Football Award “, Beaver is adamant on going to the swanky dinner in everyday clothes cause his teammates say they will too. Ward initially let’s Beaver make a fool of himself to teach him a lesson, but sneaks Beaver’s suit in the trunk of the car, allowing Beaver to go back in and really enjoy himself. Of course, there are probably many more examples. Please feel free to list them or discuss these two eps. Happy viewing,my LITB buddies

Other examples: Ward goes out and rents a parrot for Beaver to bring to the school pet fair, since Beaver didn't have a pet.
Ward goes out and gets an orchid corsage since Wally's date insisted on one. June did nudge him on both of those items. The two episodes Oh Nuts mentioned are good ones, although the logistics of sneaking the jacket and tie out to the car have been discussed before. But those aren't really important--the important thing was that he did it. Another thing was that in episodes like Sweatshirt Monsters or the school picture, he tries to impart to Beaver the difference between right and wrong. Beaver is a slow learner and naive, but as June said in one episode, he is a "nice little boy." Shows good parenting works! |

When Ward gets Beaver changed into regular clothes so he doesn't have to wear the Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit to school.

Ward Cleaver is my favorite sitcom dad of all time. He spends quality time with Wally and Beaver in their bedroom, lecturing on things they did wrongs as well as helpful advice to get them through life.
There was the episode where Beaver got a heirloom ring stuck on his figure and it had to be cut off. Ward had Beaver write an apology letter to Aunt Martha. When Ward saw the letter, he tore it up and told Beaver that they could get the ring fixed. He was also a reassuring presence around June, who constantly worried about the boys. |

and how could you possibly dislike Ms Landers actually SO Many interesting characters over the years I credit the casting people for MUCH of the success of the series, and the writers expanding on their acting qualities & abilities ... |
