as a teacher for so many years? I thought she was his second-grade teacher.

She was his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade teacher. I've never heard of a teacher moving with her or his class.

Another teacher who seemed to do that was the lovable and unforgettable Helen Crump. In most other sitcoms teachers are misc. character actors.

I did have the same teacher for 1st and 2nd grades in the very early '70s. But it does seem unusual to me, for a teacher to keep the same group for more than a year or two.

Yes I havent either,its quite strange she just happend to move and he was assigned to her! (Maybe on purpose)

Yes, for Beaver (although the writers were all over the map in Family Scrapbook) it was--season 1 grade 2, season 2 grade 3, season 3 grade 4, season 4 grade 5, season 5 grade 6, season 6 grade 8 (they skipped 7).

For Wally, it was season 1 grade 8, season 2 freshman, season 3 soph., season 4 junior, season 5 unmentioned, season 6 senior.

Miss Canfield was Beaver's 2nd grade teacher. Miss Landers was his teacher for the next 3 years, then he seemed to have various teachers for his Jr. High years (7th & 8th grade).

Thanks for that correction! It was 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade for Miss Landers.

So the show starts with Beaver in the second grade? I thought it was the 1rst grade.

They mention first grade in Family Scrapbook, but they're rewriting show history when they do. The first season episodes mention second grade.

Mrs. Rayburn makes reference to the fact that Miss Canfield is a new teacher. Miss Canfield might in Beaver Gets 'Spelled, too.
