Richard Kiel, best known for portraying Jaws in the James Bond series, was originally cast as the Hulk, and the pilot TV movie was originally shot with him, however, the producers decided that he wasn't "bulky" enough, so they fired him and reshot his scenes with Lou Ferrigno. A very brief shot of him remains in the pilot though, when the Hulk is about to save a young girl from drowning, the shot zooming out on him from the top of a tree is of Kiel, you can tell because of the lack of bulk and the fact that his face is of a different shape to Ferrigno's.
