Tuesday, METV aired Part One of the two part episode where Richie returns home with Lori Beth and Richie Jr. from the Army. It also marked the return of Don Most as Ralph Malph. To me, it was one of the most memorable episodes after Ron Howard left to go into directing full time. Your thoughts on the episode where Richie decides to move his family to California to become a screenwriter.

Didn't really care for the episode. Punching the Fonz felt too much like pent up anger over his tv character being overshadowed.

I like it. It was the farewell episode that Ron Howard should have gotten when he left, but didn’t because he left unexpectedly in between seasons (he had planned to return for season 8, until NBC offered him a deal to direct some TV movies).
Richie joining the army and going to Greenland never made much sense to me. |
