Default Password Plus Has Returned to Primetime

BUZZR yesterday returned Password Plus to their primetime lineup, a half hour later than where it had been before. Password Plus will air at 8:30/11:30 weeknights, replacing Let's Make a Deal. Let's Make a Deal will still air Saturdays in the 3PM hour.

Agreed, It’s great to Password Plus back to its rightful evening shift as the show once again aired 3 time a day on BUZZR including one in the afternoon between The Original Password & Super Password.

Let's hope they start putting on episodes from other time periods. I was getting tired of seeing only the 1979 episodes.

I access Bzzr through the TV Pluto.

I don't know if it's intentional, but the feed drops then replays at random intervals. Maybe it's done to discourage people from recording their shows.

Watching Password Plus on YouTube. George Peppard episodes now. What a loose cannon. Ranted on-air about NBC brass humiliation of celebrities having to sign off forms of their honestly, and game fixing. With quiz game shows past history don't see where Peppard has a leg to stand on. Sign offs seem perfectly appropriate. Then when Peppard violates a rule (no 2 word clue, too much time) he falls totally to pieces, stops midstream, costing his partner $ with his tantrums. Allen Ludden seems at wits end with him. Peppard is attempting or beat alcoholism at this time. IMDb says his behavior cost him a lot of jobs at this time and beyond.

The end of Password Plus had the best format out of all the different Password shows, IMO. I liked the play/pass option at the start of each clue and the progressive jackpot, though it should've started at $10K instead of $5K. The Cashword bonus money portion of Super Password is nice, but I wouldn't trade it for the "no opposites" rule, although they probably could've made additional restrictive clue-giving rules as well. I thought they could've varied Alphabetics a bit more, like letting the contestant decide whether to give or receive, or going backwards through the alphabet or wrapping around from Z to A (or vice-versa). Also, I didn't mind its 20% penalty for words gotten with illegal clues, except when the giver is totally blatant with the cheating. (Some of the celebs spoke the final password and told the contestant to repeat it when time was running out. )

There’s a reason George Peppard was fired after filming part of the three-hour “Dynasty” pilot. And it wasn’t because he was a peach to work with.

I love the P+/Super P format. But the alphabetics part isn’t as suspenseful as it could have been. They should have modeled it after Pyramid, with more rigid rules about how many words you can say at one time, words increasing in difficulty (maybe fewer of them in 60s), and without Allen shouting the letters (which he screwed up quite a bit).

I do like Cashword a lot.

Watched Password Plus on YouTube. Then tried Super Password. You can really see that opposites make SP too easy. Still entertaining. But, PP really challenges the players. Some players are amazing to consistently deliver perfect clues. PP & Jeopardy to me are the best brain candy games shows available. Might try the old Pyramid.
