Wow, today's my My 3 Sons day and have been watching the commercial DVDs today was epis. 4.2 "Scotch Broth". And to my great surprise I saw 2 distinct little scenes I have never seen before. This is the show when the Douglas' go to Scotland to inherit the Castle.
The first surprise was when Bub & family all now up in an attic going to sleep and Bub thinks a cat is scratching his feet. He starts yelling and the boys see that it's a RAT!!! This tends to ruin a good night's rest and it did so here too. The second surprise scene once again involved Bub. Why is it that the syndicated versions all seem to have no problem cutting Bub's big moments. This one comes when Bub is in the pub with a bunch of Scothmen (as the cab driver on Hazel calls them) and he literally starts to fight a big mouth lout there, he actually puts up his fists and dances around the bum attempting to lay one across the chops. Don't worry though the Scotchman doesn't lay a glove on Bub either. Then Steve enters the pub and breaks up the fun.Now I don't remember seeing either of these scenes before in all my days of watching My 3 Sons. I never saw the b/w's when they were 1st broadcast on ABC and that was probably the last time these forevermore edited scenes were chopped. These commercial DVDs are essential to any serious collector of My 3 Sons, anyone who doesn't buy them is just looking for any excuse to not let the mothballs out of the old wallet. Is every episode uncut? No, but 98% are and that makes the commercial releases worth it.
