Game Shows You Thought You'd Enjoy But Lost Interest In? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When you first hear that a new game show will be debuting on TV you grin with excitement but soon find out that the game show isn't what it's cracked up to be and you start watching another game show instead. That's what this thread is all about and I'm gonna ask everyone what game show you had high hopes for but it wasn't your cup of tea after all?
I'll start my list,
1. Supermarket Sweep "Leslie Jones version"
I really was excited about this show at first but it is now the worst show i've seen and I hope it isn't renewed for Season 2
2. Let's Make A Deal
I don't know how LMAD continues to be successful for CBS but my interest in it went downhill and when it first began it was fun to watch. I much perfer The All-New Let's Make A Deal over this version
3. The Line
I never understood why GSN made this game show because I thought it would be a hit like The Chase was but after seeing part of it I went to watch movies
4. The All-New Catch-21
I was excited about this show also but I perferred the original Catch-21 than this new version. I can't figure out how it won an Emmy too

The Donny Osmond version of Pyramid, since the Winner's Circle was too easy to win, and the host was too predictable and not that interesting.

I liked The Line and thought it was interesting. But it never got picked up to series, with only the 2 preview episodes airing. Jack Narz Concentration I was looking forward to when Buzzr added it. But that show is so dull compared to the Alex Trebek version.

Good call on the Jack Narz version of Concentration.

I also didn't enjoy Million Dollar Password with Regis Philbin. The action was much too slow in that version. Password isn't a glitzy nighttime style of game.

I've tried to get into the "parlor"-type games (To Tell the Truth, I've Got a Secret, What's My Line, Masquerade Party), but I just don't enjoy them, with the possible exceptions of Match Game and Password (PP+ and Super Password editions). I say "exceptions" just because you could argue that MG and Password aren't in the same subgenre as TTTT/IGAS/WML.

Million Dollar Password i've never understood how in the world it even made it to TV. But I remember seeing it when it came out and the show though a great concept to revive a classic game show had the most awkward gameplay. I think Million Dollar Password was mainly an attempt to make Regis Philbin a Comeback Kid to game shows but I think what really caused the show's ratings to drop and cause it's early death was having William Shatner on Season 2 as one of the featured celebrities and I don't know why he was such a terrible player? But it had a board game released which I liked better
