Orphanage Children the Motown TV Sitcom that could've been a hit - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In 1975 Motown Records was trying to expand their record label by developing a TV production company called Motown TV and began work on what was supposed to be a musical sitcom called Orphanage Children that was gonna be the acting debut of singer Teena Marie. But the pilot episode was never filmed and aired. I found out about Orphanage Children through the liner notes of my Teena Marie album. If it would've been made in 1975 would Orphanage Children been a hit?

Hi, Bestie! I think the play about Little Orphan Annie was on at that time. Do you think they were going to copy it with black orphans?
