Default Which Brady kid could not deal with being a Brady?

E just did the Brady Bunch True Hollywood story and It seems some of the kids deal with being a Brady better than others. I feel Marcia and Jan have the most problems with their former glory. With Jan I can almost understand, the movie made her so goofy, but EVERYONE loves Marcia. So i ask you, which Brady Kids need therapy to deal with their fame? Greg seems fine as does peter and Carol. Cindy, and Bobby seem somewhere in between and Jan and Marcia are just embarased.

Default Who dosen't wanna be a brady?

Cindy, she hated wearing those pig-tails, she even admits that the '70's mod was ugly, I mean if you look at it, she always had to be the "girl next door", she played the same character on the Brady Bunch, she had no character at all to show she always was the yougest one in curls? Pig-tails are more like it.

That's a great question, btw...

I don't think there's any question that Carol and Greg seem to be most proud of their association with the show. Even though both have admitted that "nothing happened", I think they both love the fact that a lot of people still believe that they had a fling during the run of the show...Also, Greg likes the fact that a lot of people wonder what "really happened" between him and Marcia...

Overall, I think that (with the exception of Carol) the guys have definitely dealt better with having been on the show...The girls want to be known for other things (as demonstrated by both Jan and Marcia who, almost immediately upon the show's cancellation, took movie roles that weren't exactly in line with their Brady image...I well remember seeing a very hot Eve Plumb in "Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Prostitute (or was it "Runaway"...or maybe it was a runaway who BECAME a prostitute...)"...anyway, even at that time, she certainly didn't want to be remembered only as Jan Brady...and Marcia played a few low budget roles herself...

From what I can tell, the single most embarrassing moment for ANY of the kids during the show's run was Cindy playing Shirley Temple...and can you blame her? That episode is really unwatchable these days.

Peter says he was very embarrassed whenever the kids had to sing...I think he said he was tone-deaf....so that must have been absolute torture for him...but he seems to be doing well these days...I think he's President of a Software company...

Overall, while Greg and Carol seem to love being associated with the show (and with each other), Peter and Bobby seem to accept the show as something that happened to them early in life, while Marcia and Jan a lot of times seem to wish it never happened....Although they value the friendships they formed with each other and the other kids, M & J's big disappointment came when they discovered that the show type-cast them for life...and that can be tough for anyone to take, regardless of whether an actor was type-cast during childhood OR adulthood.

And of course, not too many people have experienced an entire nation of red-blooded American boys being "in love" with them, and then being forgotten about as soon as they outgrew their roles...I was crazy about both Jan and Marcia (especially Jan in Season Five), and I know I wasn't the only one...

Like I said, overall, I think the guys handle being associated with the show better than the girls, with the exception of Carol.

I think Maureen McCormick (Marcia) isn't too thrilled with her Brady heritage. I have seen the "E" episode, but I also read somewhere that she refuses to answer any "Brady Bunch" questions when asked.

She seems the most bitter Brady if you ask me...

Red face

Eve Plumb and the girl who played Cindy.

At first Cindy hated to be associated with the Brady's she even didn't appear in some of the movies or shows after the original show was over. Now I see her talking about growing up Brady.

Eve Plumb wasn't happy being a Brady either she didn't appear on one or two programs after the show was over too.

Like someone here said. The Males faired better........

Yes, good points...

As I recall, Cindy did not appear in "A Very Brady Christmas", because she was on her honeymoon at the time. I think that she did appear in most of the episodes of "The Bradys" and perhaps could have appeared in "The Brady Brides" as well (That's the show where Marcia married Wally and Jan married Phillip).

Eve Plumb, as I recall, did not appear in the horrid "Brady Bunch Variety Hour" show that was on in the late 70s (a very wise decision on her part).

There have been a number of Brady reincarnations since the original series ended, but I'm not sure if ANY of them had ALL of the original folks reprising their Brady roles...seems to me that every Brady show that came along either had a fake Marcia, a fake Jan or a fake Cindy.

Mike, Carol and Alice always came back for every subsequent show, and I believe the guys all came back for every show as well, but there was usually at least one fake girl.

And, as I recall, the fake Jan (Variety Series) and the fake Cindy (Brady Christmas) were both pretty girls themselves, as was the fake Marcia (from whatever she was in).

All of this is off the top of my head, so please forgive any errors or omissions. Have a great day all!

Fake Marcia in "The Bradys," a horrifying attempt at putting a dramatic spin on the whole Brady saga, was played by Leah Ayres.
Fake Jan from "The Brady Bunch Variety Mistake" was played by Geri Reischl.
Fake Cindy in "The Friggin Brady Christmas" was played by Jennifer Runyon of "Charles In Charge" fame.

If you ever get a chance to see the 1990 series "The Bradys," you will not be disappointed.
No, wait, you will be disappointed. Very disappointed. Man it sucked!
