Default Season 5 opening

We know that the season 5 opening has Pamela Segall in it, but only when she was in the episode.

Out of 12 episodes where Pamela appears in the opening, Kelly really appeared in only 7.

Probably the character was in the original script of the episodes but, since her parts were usually small and not relevant for the main story (except for Small But Dangerous), they did get rid of her.

I really really don't like Kelly, but I'm sure Pamela did her best

The worst about the season 5 intro is the “beauty shot” they use for Lisa in the early episodes. Her hair is awful and she looks like she’s smiling through some sort of pain or discomfort.

Pamela was very much aware that her character was getting sidelined more and more, which I think must have been very upsetting. She spoke, in an interview, of getting scripts where her parts were red-lined.

I never liked the character of Kelly, because that character was written wrong, but I do feel bad for Pamela, who ended up getting the "Felice treatment": her role ended up on the cutting room floor. The producers ended up trying a new urchin just 15 episodes after Pamela was dismissed.

I never liked Kelly too, and I never approved the addition of those later characters, except Beverly Ann. FOL is Mrs. Garrett and her Eastland girls (Lost Girls and Core Four). By the time Charlotte Rae left, the girls could have lived together in the house. There was no need of adding a new housemother at that point, but I'm sure they wanted a strong name to replace Charlotte and keep the veteran audience.

Anyway, Kelly was, as you said, written wrong. Pamela did her best but she was extremely unpopular (you can't pretend forgiveness after you have vandalized and stolen Edna's Edibles ), she was the bad copy of Jo.
She was Nancyied after her only episode about her character.

Yeah, a cheap knock-off of Jo. Like they couldn't figure out that one Jo, an authentic Jo, was enough.

You couldn't have said it any better FOL FAN ITA!!!

FOL was definitely about MRS G and her girls, and no URCHIN of any sort had any business in the show and especially ANDY: sorry, but he was definitely my least favourite! (i absolutely chose KELLY over him cos at least she was funny).

KELLY was definitely Nancied, and i wish they had done the same with URCHIN ANDY: that boy was not funny at all and i found his jokes lame!

This one? Yeah, she looks off-camera shortly in disinterest, and the smile is so fake like she doesn't want to be there.
