Default The kids ages

What were the ages of Greg, Peter, & Bobby and Marcia, Jan, & Cindy in the first episode and did their ages follow to the end of series? How much older was Greg & Marcia, Peter & Jan, and Bobby and Cindy? Slightly off the original questions but were both Carol's and Mike's dead? Did Bobby & Cindy have much or any memory of their respective "passed" parents?

The exact ages are a good question, but they all seemed to track logically thru all 5 seasons.

I think one or both sets of parents were in the first episode--I'm sure Carol's were. The grandparents played by Reed and Henderson were Carol's and Mike's grandmother and grandfather, I think.

Also a good question about the youngests' recollections of their deceased respective parents. There were not many references to that--one I remember is Bobby's resentment of stepmothers.

In the pilot, Bobby takes the photo of the boys’ birth mother off the dresser because he doesn’t want to hurt Carol’s feelings. I’m guessing he may have had some memories of her.

The odd things that is clear from the exterior of the houses (Mike's and Carol's houses) are on stories in the first episode and did Bobby still the photo it boys bedroom after Mike married Carol.
Was Cindy younger then Bobby?

One thing I wonder, did Bobby and Cindy ever catch up with Greg and Marsha in age? At the end of the series were Bobby and Cindy as old as Greg and Marsha were at the beginning?

Wasn't the house in the first episode only Mike's? Don't they move to "their" house for the second and all episodes?

I always thought that... There seems to be quite a bit of time that passed between the first and second episodes.

But many believe it's supposed to be the same house... That Greg had his own room and Peter and Bobby shared what became the girls' room

Well, the kitchen in the first house is different than the kitchen in the second house.

It’s the same house. It just looks different because Paramount didn’t build sets for the pilot. They didn’t know whether the show would be picked up to series and didn’t want to spend the money, so they used a real house to film. After ABC bought the series, they built sets.

In “A Clubhouse Is Not A Home,” Carol and the girls are clearly moving in (as opposed to the whole family moving in). And in “To Move Or Not To Move” from the first season, the boys are reminiscing about all the great times they’ve had in the house, and it’s longer than just a few months. Besides, why would Mike have bought that house for the family to move into after the wedding, when it was clear it didn’t have enough bedrooms?

I thought it was said in dialogue in one of the episodes that Mike had the house built as a wedding present.

As I was reading this thread I had this thought. The sets definitely looked different, but that might have just been because it was a pilot.
