Angry Times when you got MAD at Good Times?

The Restaurant that Florida and Carl went to that made them wait a LONG time for their steak and then brought out a steak and the Waiter said ,"This is the best steak in the Restaurant!" And then served it to ANOTHER TABLE! I gasped in anger! I wanted to SLAP that Waiter. And then to make it even worse, they gave Florida the WRONG Steak temperature when they FINALLY gave her a steak! On Yelp, they'd get a one star!

James reading a Contract AFTER he signed it! Stupid! I was shocked that the normally smart James did something so STUPID! Surprise, surprise, the Contract was NOT something he wanted(Which is why you should ALWAYS read a Contract BEFORE signing it!) He's lucky that Florida came up with an ingenious way to outsmart the Shady Salesman and he tore up his copy of the contract and gave James back his money.

The Cops arresting JJ on Suspicion of robbing a liquor store... The REAL Robber was some short fat man. JJ was a tall skinny man. Florida sarcastically says,"They're practically twins!"

The Doctor refusing to even LOOK at Penny's burned back in the ER got me mad. If he LOOKED at Penny's back, he would have known she'd been burned with an iron! Him coldly telling Willona to have Penny's Mother make an appointment to check Penny made me mad too. Willona JUST told him that Penny was ABUSED by her Mother and he has the nerve to tell Willona to have Penny's Mother make an appointment to check Penny! The Audience was rightfully mad at him. Luckily after Willona really told him off, he called a Social Worker to check on Penny and apologized for his attitude and admitted he was stressed out when he acted so rude(Right thing to do).

This wasn't one in which I got 'mad' per se but I didn't like how they attempted to totally pretend that J.J. was the innocent victim and the banker was the total villain in' The Mural'.

OK, Thelma's college tuition fund has a major shortfall so J.J. tries to raise monies by his art. So far, so good! The banker sees one of his paintings and offers to pay him $200 if he'll paint a mural for the inside of his bank. Sounds cool, right? What could go wrong?

Every member of the Evans Family and Willona all believe this will set J.J.'s art on the road to permanent fame and resulting riches.

THEN J.J. unveils his painting and it's of. .. a party inside a pool hall!

To everyone's [alleged] surprise, the banker hates it while J.J. , his entire family and Willona are furious that this banker doesn't ADORE this mural- especially since the banker says he's going to have it painted over first thing and NOT pay the monies.

OK, I know J.J. is a dim bulb but I couldn't believe that the REST of the family, James, Florida, Michael, Thelma or even Willona didn't ask him 'What were you THINKING?!' when he unveiled the pool hall painting. I mean, ALL of them had been inside banks (or, in Michael's case, had seen them on TV) and ,even in African- American owned banks, NONE of them had /murals paintings like that! And, since this WAS for Thelma's education fund, it wouldn't have been out of line for James, Florida or Thelma herself to have berated J.J. to have BLOWN this gig via staying totally rogue instead of making the tiniest effort to try to imagine what images would be apt inside a bank (e.g, a line of doctors, nurses, police, firefighters, professors, grocers etc. of differing ethnicities ready to get loans at the tellers' cages to fulfill their ambitions). But instead they ALL took umbrage against this banker as though he was deliberately picking on J.J. for no reason besides his pigmentation and acted as though there was no chance the patrons would have been distracted if not disturbed by the pool hall party instead of adoring it every bit as much as they did! It wound up that James threatened the banker with violence to get the banker to cough up the $200 but the banker STILL painting over the mural. OK, it was only fair that the banker had to pay the monies since that WAS what he agreed to do (and he hadn't bothered to check on J.J.'s work to 'advise' him before it was finished). However, I don't think James should have been let off the hook re threatening violence against the man.

I didn't like how the show expected the audience to totally fall in lockstep with hating this banker for not adoring this mural or not thinking it was perfectly apt for this bank.

For the record, the mural itself was OK but IMO it TRULY did not belong inside any business besides a pool hall. And, in any case, it was seen on the closing credits for the longest time after this episode so it wasn't as though the actual artist got zero publicity for the mural.

I was just thinking of that episode shortly before coming back here. I remember other GT Fans saying stuff like,"JJ should have known that lavishing his Family with expensive gifts such as the New TV and Premium Steaks would have aroused Florida's suspicions. If I were him, I'd give them CHEAP gifts, not EXPENSIVE gifts to stay under the radar of Florida's suspicion. JJ should have known that Florida wasn't an Idiot and would have eventually questioned him on what Company he worked for and why they would pay a new guy so much money.

I remember that episode being uploaded to Youtube and a GT Fan said something like,"They still ate the cake after JJ sat on it. That was NASTY! :/"

With JJ's butt print on the cake, the whole cake was the ends

How could I have forgotten this one? Michael yelling at JJ for "letting," the gunman steal the TV they were planning to sell for rent money. The man had a GUN! JJ was smart to let the man take the TV! I wanted to punch Michael for yelling at JJ! Like a GT Fan said,"Florida could have had a funeral for her Husband and Son the SAME YEAR had JJ gotten shot over that damn TV! JJ did the right thing!" Michael pissed me off so bad in that episode!

I wasn't REALLY mad at this Good Times joke, but it did male me UPSET. The joke that Murderers don't go to Halfway Houses after their Prison Sentences, they get released back to the streets NEVER made me laugh. It ALWAYS makes me upset, NOT amused. It never sots well with me.

^^^ I was very disappointed with James in that episode.

James made me mad when he felt sorry for Mad Dog (the guy who shot J.J.) I think that was the only time that I was truly mad at James.
