Florence Henderson Wesson Oil Commercials - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

We all know Florence Henderson as Carol Brady from The Brady Bunch but just like Ann B. Davis did for Minute Rice Florence Henderson was the spokeswoman for Wesson Oil in a series of commercials from the 80's to 1992. In them she invented the catchphrase Wessonality which in commercial lingo meant good food cooked with Wesson Oil. Who knew that Florence Henderson would go on to star in commercials for Jello Pudding and Carpet One Flooring outlet stores but if you are a diehard The Brady Bunch fan these commercials are worth looking at

Hi, Bestie! You are right. Florence Henderson had an evn greater career as a commercial spokes woman than she di as the Brady Bunch mom. Did you know sh also was a singer? I bet you can find some of her sininging if you try.

I remember the Wesson commercials. Here's Florence, in 2011, talking about her 22-year gig as spokeswoman for Wesson, and how difficult it was, as an actress, to do those commercials.

I met her when she did a book signing in NYC back in September 2011. She said that she was contacted by a company rep. about the job and she accepted it, doing it for twenty years from 1976-1996.

She then explained that doing those commercials was not easy. She told the crowd, "You try running in the kitchen with a plate of fried chicken, chewing off a piece, holding the bottle up making sure all of the letters get in the frame, and then doing the 'Wessonality' jingle in all less than 60 seconds."

She also spoke about working for Polident Denture Cleaner.

Nice! I love it! Florence sounds like she was so kind so her fans. She obviously valued her viewers. I'm glad you got something to remember the event. I have met some celebrities who were awesome, and some who were awful. Glad to know Florence was awesome.
